Let f(x) =  x^{2}-ax-4=0
And let one root be  \alpha
Then as per as question, other root is- \alpha
And we know that sum of root is equal to the negative of coefficient of x by coefficient of  x^{2}

Therefore,  \alpha + (- \alpha ) = 0
=>-(a/1)= 0
=>a =0
So, the value of a is 0. The correct option is (a)
