Slums and ghettos are the ugly realty of our world. Their presence in, around or near the big cities is an ugly reminder to the entire mankind that all is not well! They remind us that all the technological advancements, development in infrastructure, new educational institutes, the ever increasing growth rate, launching of new models of cars and bikes don't mean anything to the slum dwellers. They make the onlookers feel miserable. The government policies fail to deliver them out of their plight. The donations of the rich prove terribly insufficient. What a paradox! The rich and the poor living on the same planet, same environment, inhaling the same air, basking under the same sun, still their ways of life are diametrically opposite. The rich living in all the abundance of food, clothes, enjoying all the luxuries of life; the poor on the other side, live deprived, always famished, ill clad; their surrounding dirty, stinking with squalor. The government and the affluent people joined together, must do something to deliver these less fortunate people out of their miserable existence.
