AnswEr :

The required fraction is 3/5.

Explanation :

Let x be the numerator and y be the denominator of the fraction respectively!!

Here,

x + y = 8 [Given] ⠀−[eqn 1]

Also,

x + 3/ y+3 = 3/4 [Given]

Now, solving further,

➝ x + 3/ y+3 = 3/4

➝ 4(x + 3)= 3(y + 3) [On cross multiplying ]

➝ 4x + 12 = 3y + 9

➝ 4x - 3y = 9 - 12

➝ 4x - 3y = -3 ⠀⠀−[eqn 2]

Now,

Multiplying eqn (1) by 3,

➝ 3x - 3y = 24 ⠀⠀−[eqn 3]

Adding eqn (2) and (3)

➝ 4x - 3y + 3x -3y = -3 + 24

➝ 7x = 21

➝ x = 3

Substitute x = 3 in eqn(1)

➝ x + y = 8

➝ 3 + y = 8

➝ y = 8 - 3

➝ y = 5

\therefore The required fraction is 3/5 .
