Vandana wants to cover the floor of a room 6 m wide and 8 m long by squared tiles.

If each square tile is of side 2 m, then find the number of tiles required to cover the floor of the room​

Area of floor = l × b

                     = 6 × 8

                     = 48 m²

Area of tile = a × a

                  = 2 × 2

                  = 4 m²

\tt No \: of \: tiles = \dfrac{area \: of \: floor  }{area \: of \: tiles}

                   \tt = \dfrac{48}{4}

                   \sf = 12

∴ The no of tiles required are 12.
