▪︎Sodium carbonate(washing soda) is used as a cleansing agent for domestic purposes like washing clothes.

Properties of Bases:

▪︎Bases are bitter in taste.

▪︎Feel soapy in touch.

▪︎Bases turn red litmus blue.

▪︎Conducts electricity.

Uses of bases:

●Sodium hydroxide is used for manufacturing of soap.

●Calcium hydroxide is used in the manufacture of bleaching powder.

●Magnesium hydroxide is used as a antacid to nuetralise excess acid in the stomach and cure digestion.
