When ammonium hydroxide is added in excess to copper sulphate a pale blue precipitate changes to azure blue solution which is soluble and forms copper tetrammine.

When a rod dipped in HCl gas is brought near ammonium chloride dense white fumes are observed.

Buffer solution usually consists of a weak acid and salt of its conjugate base or of a weak base and a salt of its conjugate acid. Here, we haveNH4OH+NH4Cl which is a basic buffer as NH4OH is a weak base and NH4Cl is a salt of its conjugate acid which is NH4+.
