concept : calculate the total number of electrons by adding electrons present each atom of a molecule. Then remove or add electrons according to charge to count the electrons in an ion.
H2 = 2e
H2^+ = 1e
hence, number of electron in H2^+ = 1e
number of electrons in H2 = 2e
number of electrons in O2 = 8e + 8e = 16e
number of electrons in O2^+ ion = 8e + 7e = 15e
H2 = 2e
H2^+ = 1e
hence, number of electron in H2^+ = 1e
number of electrons in H2 = 2e
number of electrons in O2 = 8e + 8e = 16e
number of electrons in O2^+ ion = 8e + 7e = 15e
