Time = 5/2 = 2.5 secs. ( because the signal travels down and then up)

Distance = 3625 m

Speed = Distance / Time
= 3625 / 2.5
=> Speed = 1450 m/sec

ANSWER = 1450 m/sec

Time Taken by the signal to go from Submarine to the object, t = 5/2 = 2.5 s

Distance between Submarine and Object,
S = 3625 m

Using, S = vt, we get

v = S/t = 3625m/ 2.5 s = 1450 ms-¹
