What possible values of resultant resistance one can get by combining two resistances, one of value 2 ohm and the other 6 ohm ?

in series connection

2 ohm + 6 ohm= 8 ohm

in parallel connection

1/2 + 1/6 = 1/R ohm

4/6 = 1/R ohm

so, R= 6/4 ohm

i.e. R = 1.5 ohm
