Answer: The caged bird quivers for singing for things unknown in a fearful and shrill note. This indicates the suppressed tone of the African- American community. The " things unknown " is a reference to the freedom longed by the caged bird, what it is and when it will come. The bird's cry for freedom is heard at a faraway place. It denotes that the wishes of the Black could not be fulfilled immediately.

Best of luck for your icse!!!
