Answer :

Surface area of the room = 2 (l +b )×h

= 2(12.5+4) ×7

= 2(21.5)×7

= 310m².

Therefore, the surface area of the room = 310m².

Surface area of the 2 doors = 2(l ×b)

= 2 × 2.5×1.2

x =6m².

Surface are of 4 windows = 4 (l×b)

= 4×1.5×1

y = 6.0m².

Total area which needed to be painted

= A (x +y)

= 310 (6+6)

= 289m².

Cost of painting the room = Rate × Area

= Rs.3.50/m² × 289m².

= Rs.1011.50

Hence, the cost of painting the walls at Rs.3.50 per square meter is = Rs.1011.50
