● Dairy : Dairy is a common activity in many families of Palampur. People fed their buffaloes various kinds of grass and jawar and bajra grows during the rainy seasons.

The milk is sold in Raiganj, the nearby large village. Two traders from Shanpur town have set up collection aim chilling centers at Raiganj from where the milk is transported to far away towns and cities.

● Small - scale manufacturing in Palampur : At present, less than fifty people are engaged in manufacturing in Palampur. Manufacturing in Palampur involves very simple production methods. They are carried out mostly at home or in the fields with the help of family labour.

● Shops in Palampur : Shopkeepers buy various goods from wholesale markets in the cities and sell them in the village. Shop keepers are selling a wide range of items like rice, wheat, sugar, tea, biscuits, soap, toothpaste, etc in their shops. A few of the families whose houses are close to the bus stand have used a part of space to open small shops. They sell eatables.

● Transport : There are variety of vehicles on the roads, connecting Palampur to Raiganj. Rickshaws, jeeps, trucks, tractors, bullock carts are people in the transport services. They take people and goods to different places and in return get paid for it.
