For example, the African plateau is famous for gold and diamond mining. The chhotanagpur plateau in India has huge reserves of iron, coal and manganese.

The answers of the given questions are as follows -

1) The Decan Trap is the Indian landmass which is made out of volcanic eruption and deposition. This Decan Trap was formed millions of years ago,by significant amount of volcanic activities.

2) The Chambal and Betwa rivers drain through the central highland of the India.

3) The extent of Eastern ghats is not as continuous as Western ghats because the wide rivers of the Eastern ghats form delta landforms. These delta landforms break the continuous chain of the mountains and the Eastern ghats became discontinuous.

4) The plateaus are important for us because, these plateau regions are naturally full of different important minerals.
