therefore age of radha 5 years ago is 3x

one year ago rani age would be x+4

similarly radha age will be 3x+4

now given that 1 year ago 3x+4=2(x+4)

x=4

now present age will be x+5 of rani and 3*x+5 of radha

i e 4+5 , 3*4+5

i.e 9, 17

hence difference is 8.
