A polynomial is a sum of terms of the form

a xⁿ

where a is a constant and n is a non-negative integer (these terms are called monomials).

In the expression x² + 1/x + 1, the middle term is not of this form, so the expression is not a polynomial.

Notice though that it can be written as a polynomial divided by another polynomial:

( x³ + x + 1 ) / x

The numerator x³ + x + 1 is a polynomial.

The denominator x is a polynomial.

It is not a polynomial bcoz when x is in denominater if it go into numernater the power will be in changed in to negative that's why it is not a polynomial.
