Given : Ram's age and Shyam's age are in the ratio 3:4.

Seven years ago the ratio of their ages was 2:3.

To Find : the ratio of their ages five years hence

Solution:

Ram's age  = 3x

Shayam age = 4x

Seven years ago the ratio of their ages was 2:3.

=> (3x - 7) / (4x - 7) = 2/3

=> 9x - 21 = 8x - 14

=> x =  7

Ram's age  = 3x = 3 * 7 = 21

Shayam age = 4x = 4 * 7 = 28

their ages five years hence  26 and 33 years

Hence ration = 26 : 33
