Given:

Ravi starts from his house and moves toward south. He walks 100m, then turns left and walks 200m, turns right and walk 500m.

To Find:

How far is he from his house?

Solution:

Let Ravi start from any point.

By following the given directions,

Re would go 100m South, then 200m left from that point and then finally 500m right from that point .

Using the Pythagorean theorem,

Distance from house = \sqrt{600^2 + 200^2} = \sqrt{360000 + 40000} = \sqrt{400000} = 632.52m

Hence, Ravi is 632.52m away from his house.
