I see this tree,
I see how he's dying,
I beg him stop crying,
He sheds all of his tears in fall,
For winters kiss is near.

I see this tree,
A home for the smallest,
This tree is a promise,
That even after winters death,
Life can be redeemed.

the writer explains a tree's cycle during fall (autumn) and winter. As the tree sheds its leaves during fall the writer compares it to a crying face, the cold winter is coming hence it is gonna freeze in time.
by smallest the writer means the lil birdies who have built their nests in the tree's bosom, they leave their nest for a warmer place and return in spring after winter is over ( winter's death) and brings with it the rejuvenation and festival of life
