Maulvi Ahmadullah Shah, a saintly rebel fought against the British forces in the battle of Chinhat (Avadh) in revolt of 1857.

The rebel army of Avadh under the leadership of Maulvi Ahmadullah Shah met the Britsh forces under the command of Henry Lawrence in the battle of Chinhat. The Maulvi fought bravely and defeated the British forces badly. The British officers had praised the valor and courage of Maulvi Ahmadullah Shah- the unsung hero of battle of Chinhat.
