rectangle and Square have the same perimeter of 60 CM the breadth of the rectangle is 3 cm less than the side of the square find the area of the square and the rectangle​

Answer:

perimeter of square = 4 ×L

60 = 4×L

L= 60÷4

L=15

so each side of square =15 cm

breadth of rectangle =3 cm less than one side of square

= 15 - 3= 12

breadth of rectangle = 12

perimeter of rectangle = 2×(l+b)

60 = 2×(x+12)

60 = 2x +24

60÷12=2x

5 =2x

5÷2 = x

2.5=x

area of square = l×l

= 15×15

=225

area of rectangle =l×b

=12×2.5

=30cm
