Reflections about Marawi siege

A successful program of effective process of listening in Marawi was voluntarily undertaken following the siege.

• Marawi is a beautiful area in Mindanao and promptly lost all its peace after the war.
• UN Women had carried out the successful military operation to give a chance to the women to share their ordeal.
• The listening opportunity provided women survivors of the siege the to discuss their experiences. Two sets of discussions took place in 2017 and 2018.  
• The women respondents addressed their experiences in the days leading up to the siege during both sets of conversations, their recollections of the war, and the challenges they faced as evacuees and internally displaced persons.
