Relevance of Swami Vivekananda's Teachings in current Scenario

Swami Vivekananda’s teachings have universal relevance. In fact, his teachings are required more in the modern times! The moral fiber of the youth of the current times has become quite weak. His teachings will work as lighthouse to show direction to many a youngsters going astray. His following teaching to nurture self-confidence is just matchless: “You cannot believe in God until you believe in yourself.”

What can inspire the struggling youth more than the following teaching of the great son of India: “Arise! Awake! And stop not until the goal is reached.”

His teaching to overcome fear is just fantastic: “The whole secret of existence is to have no fear. Never fear what will become of you, depend on no one. Only the moment you reject all help are you freed.”

I strongly feel if we just take one of his teachings and practice it in our thoughts, words, and deeds, we will surely achieve all-round phenomenal success.

The teachings of Swami Vivekananda are very relevant in the current scenario. In 1893, when he addressed the World Religious Conference at Chicago he gave the call for 'Universal Brotherhood'. The destruction of the World Trade Centre proves how important it is to follow this teaching of Swami Vivekananda, there is a need to give up religious fanaticism.

The youngsters should come forward to help the needy and downtrodden. They should follow Swami Vivekananda's teachings, which will help them  to remain close to their cultural roots. His teachings will help them to transform their lives as they focus on 'man making' and 'nation building'.
