Replacement of the diazonium group by iodine does not require the
presence of cuprous halide and is done simply by shaking the diazonium
salt with potassium iodide. Why?

Four meiotic divisions are required for the formation of four oospheres and only one meiotic division for the formation of four male gametes. The later is enclosed permanently inside ovule, that ripens into seed.
