Rohit can do 1 by 5 of a work in 5 days and Mohit can do 2 by 3 of the work in 8 days in how many days can both Rohit and Mohit together do the work

Rohit can do 1/5 of a work in 5 days

⇒ 1 day = 1/5 ÷ 5 = 1/25 of the work


Mohit can do 2/3 of the work in 8 days

⇒ 1 day = 2/3 ÷ 8  = 1/12 of the work


Find the amount of work both of them will do in a day:

1 day = 1/25 + 1/12 = 37/300


Find the number of days needed:

37/300 of the work  = 1 day

1/300 of the work = 1 ÷ 37 = 1/37 day

300/300 of the work = 1/37 x 300 = 8.11 days ≈ 9 days


Answer: Both of them will need 9 days to complete the work.
