Hey mate, here is your answer.....

Gastric gland, any of the branched tubules in the inner lining of the stomach that secrete gastric juice and protective mucus. ... Both the cardiac and pyloric glands secrete mucus, which coats the stomach and protects it from self-digestion by helping to dilute acids and enzymes.

HOPE it helps to you!!!!

GASTRIC GLANDS ARE IN THE WALL OF STOMACH WHICH SECRETES GASTRIC JUICE WHICH CONTAINS

1) HYDROCHLORIC ACID

2)PEPSIN

3) MUCUS

HERE HYDROCHLORIC ACID PROVIDES AN ACIDIC MEDIUM TO PEPSIN AND IT KILLS THE GERMS IN THE FOOD.

PEPSIN IS AN ENZYME FOR PROTEIN DIGESTION.

MUCUS IS USED AS A SHIELD TO HYDROCHLORIC ACID. AS HCL IS HIGHLY ACIDIC IT CAN DAMAGE THE WALLS OF THE STOMACH SO TO PREVENT THIS MUCUS IS SECRETED.
