Knowing how they controlled the system while preserving financial sustainability was the goal. 22 PDS clients and 14 college/high school students participated in the study. Interviews were conducted with all of the dealers, 82 PDS clients—65 of whom had cards that qualified them as being below the poverty line—and 70 student members of 20 consumer clubs. Additionally, the corresponding author had been in the room to watch distribution take place at 7 Dealer Point. In accordance with the 2005 Right to Information Act, the government's civil supply department was also asked for information on specifics of PDS system operation in the research area.
