p gets Rs 1500.

Given:

Total money = Rs 4800

Recipients = p, q, r

Share of p = 5/11(share of q + share of r)

To find:

Amount received by P

Solution:

Let p's share = P

Let q's share = Q

Let r's share = R

We are given that,

P + Q + R = 4800 (i)

Also, according to the question

P = 5/11(Q + R) (ii)

⇒ Q + R = 11P/5

Putting this value of (Q + R) in (i), we get

P + 11P/5 = 4800

⇒ 5P/5 + 11P/5 = 4800

⇒ 16P/5 = 4800

⇒ P = 4800 x 5/16

⇒ P = 300 x 5

⇒ P = 1500

⇒ share of p = Rs 1500

p gets Rs 1500.
