Explanation:     Established in 2002, we work with BMC school children. These children live in an extreme poverty and deprivation conditions lacking self confidence and self esteem. We supports these 'at risk' kids in programmes that engage them and helps them to build their Self Confidence and recommits them to stay in school. We are currently in over 200 schools in Mumbai.The Harvard School of Public Health has studied our model and found that children in Salaam Bombay's programmes have greater ambition and over 90% commit to finishing school. They have higher self-esteem and confidence than their peers and have lower tobacco use rates not only compared to other children but also less than one-third of the national average. Now that they are staying in school, we are confident that there is hope for their future.

1. Salaam Mumbai Foundation is an organisation which runs programs in various schools to empower the slum children in the field of education,sports, arts and business by helping them to improve their health and lifestyle.
2. This organisation has also been working with various schools in urban and rural areas for making the society tobacco free since 2002 and has been successful in making some districts in Maharashtra completely tobacco free.
3. It has implemented this programme in about 200 schools in Mumbai and 14000 schools in the rest of Maharashtra with the help of government.
