Ratio = Amit : Akhil = 3 : 5

Define x:

Let x be the constant ratio

Ratio = Amit : Akhil = 3x : 5x

After Rs 7000 increased, the ratio became:

Amit : Akhil = 11 : 16

Solve x:

\dfrac{3x + 7000}{5x + 7000} = \dfrac{11}{16}

16( 3x + 7000) = 11 (5x + 7000)

48x + 112000 = 55x + 77000

55x - 48x = 112000 - 77000

7x = 35000

x = 5000

Find Akhil's new salary:

Akhil's original salary = 5x = 5(5000) = 25000

Akhil's new salary = 25000 + 7000 = Rs 32,000

Answer: Akhil's new salary is Rs 32,000
