width of the picture frame =

$7\ \: \frac{3}{10} = \frac{73}{10}$

let's make their denominator same.

L.C.M of 5 and 10 is 10.

= (38/5) × (2/2) – (73/10) × (1/1)

$= \frac{76 - 73}{10}$

$= \frac{3}{10}$

Thus, the picture should be trimmed 3/10 cm.
