The scientific name of neelakhuranji is strobilanthes kun_thianus. It is the most popular shrub which is found in shoal forests of Western Ghats located in south India. When it comes to Nilgiri Hills, they are called Blue Mountains. It get this name because of the purplish blue colour flowers of the Neelakurinji shrubs which blossoms only once in the twelve 12 years.
