Explanation:

Personal responsibility means taking responsibility for your actions, in other words, it’s being able to take care of one’s well-being without expecting or blaming others to do it for you,” as stated by QuintinBaker1 (2012). In another word, I am accountable for my actions to coincide with my goals because as a student, I’m expected to perform the assignments and study the materials to succeed in the course. Establishing and maintaining the positive relationship with my facilitator, I can communicate by the internet or by phone, and I know I can depend on the moderator to help me navigate through the course by asking questions if I do not understand the assignments.

Once a decision is made to enter the academic lifestyle, it is my personal to do everything that is required of me to succeed. The university life is a journey that will lead to a positive area, and since more adults with other responsibilities are attending college, they will deal with others. Earning a degree in the field of...will provide me with a better opportunity of being employed in a career of my choice, and a route to serve others. The road ahead is not too long, therefore, I remind myself of that to keep me focus the way I did before. There will be unexpected turns but tell myself the reason that I am in the program. I trust that my positive attitude will help me with the pressure of staying committed and to keep moving forward.

Another reason to accept the personal responsibility is also that of the aspect. The cost of University is high to educate a student. Therefore it’s important to apply me to the journey and achieve my best. The reward for completing the goal of a degree will represent the education to work in that field and serve others.

Another point I would like to make about personal is the fact that it will affect academic success. My task is to be patient with myself and believes that I will succeed in the program when I follow the directions. I am to take charge of my learning by completing assignments on time, do the research and assignments for the courses. Performance needs to be to the best of my ability and recognize my learning styles and used possible learning strategies. Any mistakes or failures are my responsibility since it also involves my ’s my responsibility to study for the test. I intend on setting a schedule to do my school work, ask questions to my facilitator and counselor when I don’t understand the assignments, or I am confused about any subjects. I need to follow direction by reading carefully and internalize the issues. I plan on utilizing professional competence which will give me the ability to analyze, understand and master specific skills which will transfer to my career later on.

It’s my personal responsibility to know my types of personality and intelligence and learning styles because it will also affect my academic success. Part of my success is my interaction with others; I am an intrapersonal type of person which means I use my past experiences and feelings as a bridge to my readings and lectures. I think a lot about what I want in the future. It’s my personal responsibility to choose the right career base on my type of intelligence. Also being able to work in a team by learning other’s ethnic lens and being open-minded when working with others. Even with discontentment, my goal is to continue to aim for the success of the team. Pride and impertinence could be part of the team but my personal responsibility is to understand it is part of critical thinking, and it is a requirement for success. As Steve Brunkhorst states (2005), “A great philosophy of responsibility: When things are working, I am responsible…and when they need fixing, I am responsible.”
