Sycorax is a concealed character in William Shakespeare's play The Tempest (1611).
She is a horrible and intense witch and the mother of Caliban, one of only a handful couple of local occupants of the island on which Prospero, the saint of the play, is stranded. Beyond any doubt it will make a viable effect.
