1 quintal =100kg
Cp of 100kg onions =2000
1kg =2000/100=20₹
Sp of 1 kg onion=18₹
100kg onions sp=18x100=1800
Loss=2000-1800=200

Loss = - 200

Step-by-step explanation:

Sharad bought one quintal of onion for Rs.2000,

Then cost price,(CP) =

1 Quintal = 100 kg = Rs.2000/-

He sold them at the rate of 18 Rs./ kg

Then,

1 kg = 18 Rs.

100 kg = 18\times 100

100 kg = Rs.1800/-

So,

Selling price =  Rs.1800/-

profit or loss = selling price - cost price

profit or loss = 1800 - 2000

Profit or loss = - 200

Loss = - 200 (minus sign indicates the loss )
