Collenchyma are made up of living cell. They are filled with protoplasm. Cell cavity is wide. Wall thickening consist of cellulose. pits are simple and straight. It also provides mechanical strength.
Sclerenchyma are dead cell. The wall thickening is uniform .It can be cellulose or lining or both. Cell cavity is narrow. pits are simple. It is only a mechanical tissue.
