raja ravi verma was born on 29 april 1848 he was one of the best painters in india his work were famous for fusion of european techniques with pure indian sensibility.he was also known for making lithographs so that his paintings were also bought by the public also. ravi verma atarted a lithographic printing press in ghatkopar mumbai in 1894 and later shifted to malavali near lonavala maharashtra in 1899. he made paintings mostly of hidu gods and goddesses in scenes adapted mainly from ramayana mahabharata and puranas ! these paintings were so popular that they were printed even after the death of raja ravi verma in 1906.
