The History of Arunachal Pradesh
History of Arunachal Pradesh goes back to hundreds of years into mists of tradition and myth. The Historical Information, which is recorded can be traced only when Ahom kings began to rule Assam in the 16th century AD. The British took possession of Assam in year 1838. After independence, it was part of the North East Frontier Agency and later a Union Territory. On 20th February, 1987 Arunachal Pradesh was mad a full fledged state.
The History of Assam
Assam's history goes back to the ancient times. The base of this Historical Information can be found in Vedic literature, Tantric literature, Assamese folklore and Buddhist literature. Known as 'Kamarupa' or 'Pragjyotish' in the period of the Epics, Assam is inhabited by human civilisation since about 2000 BC.
Assam joined the rest of the country in the Civil Disobedience movement of 1930 launched by Gandhiji. In 1935 self goverance in Assam was introduced. In the post Independence period of India, Assam witnessed several separation of territories.

Not much is known about Tripura's early history. It first finds reference in the Ashokan pillars of the 3rd century BC. In the 1300s AD, Tripura came under the control of the Manikya dynasty, a family of Indo-Mongolian origin. In the early part of 17th century AD, Tripura came under the administration of the Mughals. Monarchy in Tripura ended on 9th September 1947. The Historical Information of Tripura One comes to know about greatest of the Manikya rulers was Bir Chandra Manikya Bahadur of the 19th century AD. Tripura officially became part of India on Oct. 15, 1949, and a Union Territory on 1st November 1956. It became a constituent state of the Indian Union on Jan. 21, 1972.

Although ancient signs have been found in the region, the earliest recorded history goes back only to AD 900. The beginning of Manipur's more recent Historical dates from 1762, when the Raja Jai Singh concluded a treaty with the British to repel an invasion from Myanmar. Manipur became a part of India in 1949. After Indian independence Manipur became a Union Territory and subsequently achieved statehood in January 21,1972.
