Spinal cord is the extension of medualla of brain through neural canal up to the lumbar region of vertebral column. Vertebral column protects the spinal cord from injury. In spinal cord there arrangement of gray and white matter is just reverse of brain. The gray matter is centrally located in H-shaped region. The white matter forms the peripheral layer.
