This is a story about a boy named Jojo who lived with his dad in a very
small village. His dad was a hunter and Jojo always wanted to be just
like his father.
One day, Jojo told his father that he wanted to be like him, he wanted to be a hunter. His father was happy because he wanted his son to be like him. “If you want to be a hunter you have to work hard every day and practise you skills,” explained Jojo’s father. Jojo was thinking and thinking and then he made a decision. “Okay. I’ll do it,” said Jojo.
So he started in the morning, he had to wake up at 6 o’clock. He had to go to hunting school before he could do real hunting. When he arrived he practised and worked hard but when he tried he kept falling and his classmates always teased him.
One night he got so upset he ran away from home. He ran to the jungle sobbing.
“Who are you?” asked a little boy.
“Umm, Jojo. Who are you?” said Jojo.
“Hi, I’m Jack” he replied.
“I’ve always wanted to be a hunter just like my dad” explained Jojo.
“Well I’m a hunter. Would you like me to teach you how to be one?” asked Jack.
“Absolutely!” answered Jojo.
“Come early tomorrow. Then your training starts”.
The next day Jojo came super early and started his training with Jack. The first training session they did was how to aim at animals. The second lesson was how to catch echidnas and the last training lesson was how to sneak up on animals.
After two weeks, Jojo started hunting properly and he caught an animal. After he caught the animal he ran to thank Jack.
“Now I have to prove to my father that I can be a real hunter like him!”
So he went back to his village and when his father saw Jojo he asked where he had been.
“I’ve been training with Jack to be a hunter. Now I can hunt properly.”
His father replied, “You have to prove it my son before I know that you are ready to be a hunter”.
So they went to the hunting area and started hunting. Jojo did very well and caught five animals. His dad was so proud that he was sure Jojo was ready to be a hunter.
