Show how √ 5 can be represented on the number line.

║⊕ANSWER⊕║

For drawing \sqrt{5} on the number line, we consider Pythagoras theorem.

Therefore,

Using Pythagoras theorem,

(Hypotenuse)^{2} = (Base)^{2}  +( Height)^{2}

Hypotenuse = \sqrt{(Base)^{2} + (Height)^{2}   }

Hypotenuse = \sqrt{2^{2} + 1^{2} }

Hypotenuse = √5

 \sqrt{5} = \sqrt{4 + 1} \\ = \sqrt{ {2}^{2} + {2}^{2} } \\ = \sqrt{ {b}^{2} + {p}^{2} } \\ {b}^{2} = 2 \\ {p}^{2} = 1 \\ hope \: it \: help \: u \: \\ please \: mark \: as \: brilliant
