$f(x) = {x}^{3} - 4 {x}^{2} - 2x + 20 \\ if \: \: x + 2 \: then \\x = - 2 \\ f( - 2) = {( - 2)}^{3} - 4 \times ({ - 2)}^{2} - 2 \times ( - 2) + 20 \\ f( - 2) = - 8 - 16+ 4 + 20 \\ f( - 2) = - 24 + 24 \\ f( - 2) = 0$
then x+2 is factor of given eq.
