Tree and Bus topology

Explanation:

In Tree topology the computers are arranged like a tree. The branching cable begins from the top, it doesn't have any loops and is connects the head top with other nodes in top down manner. It is mostly used for WAN as it is highly secure. This topology is preferred if the workstation is located in groups.

While in bus topology only one main cable connect all the computers in the network. This main cable is the medium of communication among computers. It is less costly as only one cable is used to connect all the computers. It is preferred in LAN as the network security is less in bus topology.
