Simon commission - The Indian members of the central Legislative Assembly exposed some drawbacks in the Government of India Act of 1919. As a result of it the Simon Commission was appointed in 1927 to suggest any other reforms. Commission consisted of 7 members and its chairman was Sir John Simon.

Simon commission;
1. Indians boycotted it, as there were no Indians members in it .
2. when the commission arrived in India in 1928, it was not with demonstration with banners with written on 'go back Simon'
3. moreover there was no indication of Shivraj, which was the first priority of Indians
4. during this process, the police did Lathi charge on Lahore as a result Lala Lajpat Rai died.
