slope =  \frac{y2 - y1}{x2 - x1}

 \frac{1}{2}  =  \frac{6 - 5}{x - 1}  \\  \frac{1}{2}  =  \frac{1}{x - 1} \\ x - 1 = 2 \\ x = 2 - 1 \\ x = 1

Answer

x = 3

Step-by-step explanation:

slope of the line = y2 - y1/X2 - x1

1/2 = 6 - 5 / x- 1

1/2 = 1 / x- 1

1(x-1) = 2×1

x-1 = 2

x = 2+1 = 3

therefore x = 3
