3 is a root. so substitute it in the place of x.
3^2-2.k.3-6=0
9-6k-6=0
6k=3
k=1/2

x = x {}^{2} - 2kx - 6 \\ 3 = 3 {}^{2} - 2 \times k \times 3 - 6 \\ 3 = 9 - 6k - 6 \\ 6k = 3 \\ k = \frac{3}{6 } \\ k = \frac{1}{2}
plzzzzzz mark me as brainliest....
