15x + 20y = 130 .................(2)
From Equation (1), we get
x = (24 - 4y) / 2
x = 2(12 - 2y) / 2
x = 12 - 2y .................(3)
Putting value of x in Equation (2) , we get
15(12 - 2y) + 20y = 130
=> 180 - 30y + 20y = 130
=> 180 - 10y = 130
=> 180 - 130 = 10y
=> 150 = 10y
=> 10y = 150
=> y = 150/10
=> y = 15
Putting value of y in Equation (3), we get
x = 12 - 2y
=> x = 12 - 2(15)
=> x = 12 - 30
=> x = -18
Hence, x = -18
