-3x+2y=23

x+2y=9

x+2y-(-3x+2y)=9-23

x+2y+3x-2y=-14

4x=-14

x=-7/2

y= 25/4

3x+2y=23----(1)

x+2y=9------(2)

(1)-(2)

3x+2y=23

-x+(-2y)=-9

____________

2x=14

x=14/2

x=7
___________________________

put x=7 in equation (2)

x+2y=9

7+2y=9

2y=9-7

2y=2

y=2/2

y=1
