Hi ,

It may be like this ,

5x² - 6x - 2 = 0

divide each term with 5, we get

x² - 6x/5 - 2/5 = 0

=> x² - 6x/5 = 2/5

=> x² - 2 × x × ( 3/5 ) = 2/5

=> x² - 2x( 3/5 ) + ( 3/5 )² = 2/5 + ( 3/5 )²

=> ( x - 3/5 )² = 2/5 + 9/25

=> ( x - 3/5 )² = ( 10 + 9 )/25

=> ( x - 3/5 )² = 19/25

=> x - 3/5 = ± ( √19 )/5

x = 3/5 ± ( √19 )/5

x = ( 3 ± √19 )/5

Therefore ,

x = ( 3 + √19 )/5 or x = ( 3 - √19 )

I hope this helps you.
