We have
=> x² + 2√2x - 6 = 0
Here 6 = √2 x 3√2
Thus by middle term splitting method
=> x² + 3√2x - √2x - 6 = 0
=> x(x + 3√2) - √2(x + 3√2) = 0
=> (x - √2)(x + 3√2) = 0
Thus
=> x = √2 or => x = -3√2

Hope this helps ✌️
