Answer:

Given,

4x-3y=7--------(i)

3x-2y=5--------(ii)

Now,

(i) × 3 = 3(4x-3y)=7×3

= 12x - 9y = 21-----------(iii)

(ii) × 4= 4(3x-2y) =5×4

= 12x - 8y = 20-----------(iv)

Now,

(iii) -(iv) => 12x - 9y -(12x - 8y) = 21 - 20

=> 12x - 9y -12x+ - 8y = 1

=> -17y = 1

=> y = - 1/17

Putting y = - 1/17 in (i)------

4x-3(-1/17)=7

=> 4x + 3/17 = 7

=> 4x = 7- 3/17

=> 4x = (119-3) /17

=> 4x = 116 /17

=> x=116 /17× 1/4

=> x= 29/17

therefore,

x= 29/17 and y = - 1/17
